Infection with the coronavirus is more common than you might think. It is estimated that about 20% of the population has been infected by the coronavirus at least once.
The virus is most often contracted through contact with an infected person’s saliva, mucus, or other bodily fluids, but it can also be transmitted through contaminated surfaces and objects. The best way to protect yourself against infection is to wash your hands frequently and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth while in public places.
